Started my season as the modern New York Rangers with a record of roughly 4-6-3. Very happy with my game difficulty settings (using Trent's), but have noticed a lack of goal scoring by both me and CPU. Most my games end 2-1 or 1-0 often ending in shootouts. I am last in the league in goals scored by a significant margin, and number 1 in save percentage. Is there a specific slider I can change to limit goalie's ability? I know about the goalie advantage one on the starting lineup page, but to my understanding that would make my goalie better and theirs worse, while I need both to be worse. I didn't see any options in the AI menu. On a side note, any shootout tips? We often go into 10+ rounds without either me or CPU scoring. Any help is appreciated, really enjoy the game, really get a kick out of the amount of statistics available and cool ESPN presentation. As a jersey enthusiast I love the sheer selection available as well. Big thanks to the modders! |

This is very typical for people who just start playing the game. At first the scoring is low. Also, in the beginning of the season CPU goalies are not fatigued yet and they might perform better. Patience. Just play more and see how the scoring increases. Some shootout goals here. This is the time of my first team in the online tournament for NHL2004 Carolina Hurricanes, with E. Staal # 12, E. Cole # 26, J. Jokinen # 36, T. Ruutu # 15 and brilliant R. Whitney # 13, on Nhlportal (now closed). 4 DewWeasel: A few of my friends stopped playing this game, because in the beginning it's very difficult to beat the CPU. If you like the game and want to win and score more goals, you need more practice. First you need to train to take the puck off the opponent and play the pass. Many experienced online players will confirm to you, that the Goalkeepers in this game, are not such walls as you now think. In some old on-line seasons, we on the contrary increased the skill of goalkeepers (correcting the default roster) to score a goal was more difficult. good luck. Edited by n3q, Jan 31 2018, 11:01 AM.
