Oh, I've thought that I have IE8, but the computer went somehow mad again and upgraded to IE10. Thanks!

Me again, i've tried to install NHL 04 on my second computer. I have IE8 (yes, i've controlled it) and the game still crashes when i try to EDIT Lines. Where might be the problem now?

Rosters not properly installed, most likely.

Do you guys know if there's any way to prevent Windows 7 to automatically update IE8 to IE9?

I almost burned my brains trying to discover why my NHL 2004 wasn't working properly on my new computer (Windows 7 64, IE8). I made sure I had the IE8 before installing and when I finally could get to the menu screen, the Song Trax buttons weren't working. It also crashed to desktop when I was in the middle of test matches.

So I spend the whole night yesterday just to discover that Windows 7 had automatically updated my IE8 to 9! <_<

I'm afraid this will happen more times whenever I start the game.

Regards,

Franco

Autoinstaller has lots of bugs, and I can't get it to work by manually downloading all files. Alot of players end up being named "Chan" and eventually the game crashes while still in the menu. (Dynasty)

First off, manually downloading the files is the best way to have everything up to date, and if you read the instructions carefully you shouldn't have a problem.

If its crashing at the Dynasty menu, you need to downgrade to Internet Explorer 8. Even if it isn't your default browser, it's essential to use Dynasty. The first page of this thread has the instructions

I'm pretty sure I'm using IE8, actually I'm 100%. I have the option to upgrade to IE9 in Windows Update sooo.

Guess I'll have to start all over again.

I'm running Internet Explorer 8 on my Windows 7 machine no problem.

You have to downgrade from your current version, not install an earlier version

IE8 is the standard IE on Win 7. Uninstall IE10 and IE9 from the Windows Update.

Hi there,

I get the following script error when hitting Next on the Dynasty Setup screen:

I checked the path in the error, and the file seems to be there.

Can anybody help with this, please?

Thanks!

Game can't write/overwrite the essential createleagueinfo.txt files onto your hard drive. Your \NHL 2004 folder might be write protected... or the txt files in the \fe folder are read only... you might even have some kind of permission issue (not running the game as admin).

Reinstall the interface and make sure no file is set read-only in your \NHL 2004\fe folder.

Yo! So i downloaded and installed all your patche's and they worked very very well!

But after that i made my own menuface (of myself) , and on NHL View i changed Brandon Sutters name as my own name, and in the C:/Nhl2004/fe/nhl/images2/faces folder i changed mine and Sutters face's.

Then i went to the game and checked up lines. Yes there i am with my own menuface and Name ;) But when i were starting game , it didnt even load to the Arena menu and jumped on desktop = NHL.04.exe has spotted working =( I dont know if the reason was because of that when i changed Sutters name and faces ...

Other reason can be too the NHL97 Vintage what i downloaded , but i dont think so. I did everything right there and played the Vintage also...

Soo i didnt get anything else what to do , so i uninstalled whole game and loaded all patches again and they are working :D But im wondering can i put my face again on Sutters face Lol :)

Sorry for my bad english!

Welcome to the forum.

If you started a season and you have IE9 installed that might cause the crash. I doubt the menuface had anything to do with it.
