Aaawww Kings ![]() About the WC thing: I really hate the NHL for stealing so much focus from it. They should re-arrange the whole schedule, so there would be room for the World Championship. Getting NHL players to play, will increase popularity 200%. Good for hockey, good for everyone. |

Imho there shouldn't be a WC every year!! makes the thing useless because most of medias think "Oh yeah, every year we have a fucking tournament with guys that are playing in minor leagues-Europe, why we american/canadian should cover it?" check out in soccer, there are europeans and world championship.. every 2 year! |

The current World Championship tournament ridicules the sport of hockey... it shouldn't even be called "World Championships" but "IIHF Annual National Tournament". All countries have their C-squads there... and the first weeks' games are 99% meaningless... the game system is insane... and they have nerve to call it "WC"... it's a joke. But then again what do you except when this bozo is running things... ![]()

I agree that WC should be played in 2 years interval, but I disagree that teams played with C-squads. This year Slovaks has very strong team with Gaborik, Stumpel, Demitra, Satan, maybe will come Marian Hossa. Czechs has very strong team (Elias,Jagr,Havlat...), Russians are strong every year, also this time will have Kovalchuk, Nabokov or Kulemin, and Mikko Koivu is probably best finnish player now. And Canada? Nash,Spezza,Tavares,Burns,Ladd,Duchene,Schenn those are C-squads?Yes not the best, but they are top players from their teams. Plus all teams like switzerland, latvia, belarus .... play almost with best they can. |

B-teams or C-teams... depends on the year... and it doesn't make any difference... why play a second rate tournament every year and call it "World Championships"... when the main focus is always in the Stanley Cup anyway? I don't get it... Olympic Hockey gets about 100 times the coverage and media attention everywhere... if they wanted to increase prestige of the WC (and hockey generally) they'd play it only once every 4 years... alternating with the Olympics... and with the best squads. But no one cares about the sport... it's all about making money through Skoda and Warsteiner. |

Why didn't Backstrom come to team Finland? GO TAMPA! My friend will be SO OWNED if Pittsbugh loses the game 7... and he can keep his mouth shut about how the season ended for Wild. |

This is probably the best idea. It makes sense. And they are doing it in every other sport. Just icehockey being very weird, or the organisation. Even though SOME of the teams are alright good this year, some teams are just flat out bad. Like Denmark - only 1 NHL player, the rest are busy in playoffs, injured or forced to stay home by the club. If we go down to B-group this year, it is NHLs fault! Anyway, this is a bit off-topic Game 7 with Pitts vs Tampa is gonna be good. And oohhhhh, Habs vs. Bruins today - I have to go up early morning for uni, but I'm gonna watch the game anyway, and sent my praises to the hockey god, that Canadiens can win. |

I'm disappointed with the Kings defence. Kopitar was missing but the forwards put in a good effort, Quick had a good playoffs, the defence though constantly let Sharks players enter the slot to take shots. Also how ironic is it that Joe Thornton who's known for choking scores the OT winner. Imagine the Sharks vs Canucks, chokers vs chokers in the conference finals lol. Not that I was cheering for them but I'm glad the Sharks won. You wanna see the best teams go forward if your team didn't make the playoffs and the Sharks are much better than LA so it can make for some good back and forth games in the next round. If the Kings had advanced, they would've just gotten dominated again in every game against their next opponent like they did with SJ. Also, there was a terrible call late in the 3rd period. McGinn on SJ got a charging penalty with the game tied 3-3 and about to go to OT. The worst part though was that instead of being a minor, they gave him a 5 mintue major and a game misconduct. He barely even left his feet and Richardson was already half way down. People have used stats to show the theory that the NHL influences games with penalties and even tries to force game sevens, this didn't help. Although the Kings couldn't score on one of the worst PP's I've seen for a while and the Sharks scored after killing the penalty to win. |

That Hawks-Nucks game was worth staying awake for... Pairings are: Nucks-Nashville Sharks-Red Wings Philly-(Bruins/Habs) Washington-(PIT/TB) Interesting. |

That Canucks game was a pretty chippy game until the 3rd when it opened up. Vancouver just seems to lack that finishing instinct, I mean, it was another game where they failed to open up the lead. It's fine to defend and all and be boxed into your own zone like Montreal is but not when you're the better team and have the skill to go out and score another goal. Montreal v Boston is a similar situation where both teams are extremely conservative and it's cost them, Montreal could've won game 5 if they hadn't sat back that much on the lead. Couple of the younger dmen, Leddy and Hjalmarsson were exposed a bit especially when they were stuck in their own zone but they'll get better along with the other prospects and I wouldn't be surprised to see the Hawks challenge for the division title next year. Overall, they were definetely the better team in the series, especially when the game was tied and Crawford was really good for the most part. But the problem for them is that Nashville has a better goalie and their defence works better. I don't see Nashville's offense being able to break through the Canucks though, losing to Nashville for me would be an even bigger choke but the possibility of a Canucks v Sharks (two teams stereotypically labelled as chokers) is still alive. Glad Philadelphia won, they're good enough to beat either Bruins or Habs if Pronger and Carter get healthy (and Carter shows up for the big games). Also, I like watching Giroux play and now JVR. I saw the two games with Canadian teams and not the Buffalo one but it looks like Ryan Miller got pulled in the 7th game, he needs to be more clutch, wasn't that great in the quarter-finals against Boston last year either. |

Only watched highlights from Hawks vs. Canucks, looks like an awesome game. I hope Nashville can make some damage on them, at least they are way better in goaltending and defense, but lacks alot in offense. The Habs vs. Bruins game was great, maybe a tad too tactical by the canadiens, seeing as they bulked down during the end, to keep their lead. It worked, so it was good. Highlights was Cammalleri blast and Lucics dirty hit on Spacek. Game-7 games today, gonna be good. Streams in the link below: http://www.myp2pforum.eu/threads/55569-NHL...ey-Cup-Playoffs |
