Speaking of NHL 2000 does anyone know how to get the game to hardware render mode? I downloaded the first patch and the game crashed. Although it does work for NHL 99 and NBA Live 2000 when I tried on those games.

NHL 2000 doesn't work on my modern system, either.

Works on mine but not on hardware render. Only on software render. I'm running Windows XP.

Im having same problem that game crashes when trying to play with hardware render, but works fine with software render.

I absolutely love NHL 2000. The ridiculous fights, the classic players and that lightning fast gameplay. Plus that fantastic trade AI. How the heck did the Oilers get to the cup finals? Salo is not even rated 80, if memory serves.

I used to love playing that game :D I used to play NHL 99 and then 2000 months later almost every time I turned on my ps1. I was so pumped up to finally play as the Wild or Blue Jackets, since they came out in 2000-01. I turned on the game...."What, where are Minnesota and Columbus???" I wanted to cry....

Actually, there is a trick to make NHL 2000 work in hardware mode:

You have to copy the file dx6z.dll from a newer NHL version (I used NHL 2002) to the NHL 2000 game folder.

This will use a newer directx library to render the graphics.

It worked very well with my onboard ATI card.

You're welcome!

Never tried with 1600x1200... I guess my monitor doesn't handle it =)

NHL 2000 is also a great game, used to play it like a maniac. Loved how they made their first attempt at dynasty, with offseason signings and draft!

Thanks for the tip! I will certainly try that out.

Also, it is almost pathetic how long it took me to realize that there was a dynasty feature.

Does not work for me. Maybe because I used the file from NBA live 2001. Will try NHL 2002.
