This FA is stupid. Third tier players getting second tier dollars.

Kaberle and "King" Richards still available.

I don`t know what to think about todays trades.. First Leino, i like the way how he playe and sure i gonna miss him sometimes. Still remember the overtime goal Vs. Buffalo in game 6. Jaromir Jagr... i remember still he`s Pittsburgh years, we will see what he gives to Flyers. Versteeg going in Florida, okay. Max Talbot and Andreas Lilja, hmm.. I hear a rumor of that Brad Richards going Philly and Briere in Buffalo, totally not. Briere is my most favorite player in Philly, hope he don`t moving anywhere.

Damm I thought that Vokoun will sign with Avs.Now I really dont know where he will go,but Oilers has poor goalies, and also Hiller has some problems so maybe Ducks,or Chicago could be possible.

Jagr to Philly also not as I expected.I hoped he will sign with Habs.
New Home is coming!!!

Varlamov to Colorado! He was traded for a 2012 draft pick if I understood well.

Now: Where goes Vokoun?

Toronto is going with Reimer so not there. Colorado and Phoenix were actually the two most likely destinations. The other team that hasn't been mentioned at all but can use him because of uncertainty with Mason atm is Columbus. It's a huge failure imo for Colorado to not be able to sign him and have to trade a 1st plus 2nd for Varlamov (who wasn't even the starter in Wsh even when he was healthy last year and is a continuing injury risk). The biggest problem is that the 2012 draft is deep and if the 1st pick they gave up turns out to be Yakupov or Murray then it'll be pretty much as bad as Toronto giving Boston Seguin.

And no Philadelphia didn't trade for just a bunch of prospects. Voracek is a pretty good young player who just needs consistency and he can be a star. Brayden Schenn was considered the best prospect already drafted but not on an NHL team before the June 24th draft. And Sean Couturier as an 8th overall pick is a steal, he won't have huge potential but at least he can be a 2nd line guy.

The signing that made me lol the most was Colorado giving Chuck Kobasew $2.5 M for two years. And Florida trying to sign as many borderline 2nd/3rd line wingers as they can.

EDIT: Oh yeah and everyone is impressed by the Sabres....don't believe the hype. They're in good shape now for sure and have an owner who'll spend but the problem is that their core group of forwards only has one game changing player....Thomas Vanek. I know that Boston didn't have much either, they had a bunch of good forwards but Krejci and maybe Bergeron were the only close thing to star forwards. But I still think that you need to have some star forwards who can turn a game to win a cup. Maybe they'll have to wait for one of Ennis/Adam/Kassian/Foligno to step up. But the group they have now plus Leino should get them a pretty good regular season spot, just don't see them winning the cup this year or next.

Jordan Eberle is worth more than Voracek, will be part of the next dynasty and first canadian team since montreal to win the cup.

Are the Oilers one of the teams using seamless glass? I know the Avs use it and it's one of the reasons they get so many injuries, I believe they're all getting rid of it this season so that should maybe take that number down a bit.

No idea about the glass but their injuries were all freak injuries.

Handzus destroys Hemsky from behind in the corner (at LA)

Hall tries to fight, and catches his skate blade in a rut on the ice on the way down.

Eberle blocks a shot in the ankle

Whitney pulls every muscle in his leg.

Horcoff is Horcoff

Brule had mono/flu/...concussion?

Khabibulin old man's back

I think they had everything you could possible think of, doubt glass was too much of a factor, but I do know of NHL players complaining about the seamless glass in some arenas. It honestly just feels like bad luck has been hovering over the team the past few seasons, hopefully they can have a good healthy team this year. The FA's addressed gaping holes in the lineup.

Good 3rd/4th line C - Belanger
Potential top 4 dman - Barker
3rd pairing tough guy - Sutton
4th Line tough guy - Eager
Press box scrapper - Hordichuk

Not to mention putting Smyth back with Horcoff/Hemsky to take some pressure off the young guys, and the potential addition of RNH/Lander/Hamilton/Hartikainen/Vande Velde/Pitlick if any of them have really good training camps

I'm not entirely sure, that I like Chicago's latest move for free agents. They just signed Jamal Mayers, Brett McLean, Sean O'Donnell and Andrew Brunette, and the youngest of them (McLean) is 32 years old. I think that they are exaggerating about the need of experience in their team because they could've done better last season had they just been more active, because imo they were just a bit lazy, it's not neccesarily lack of experience. I would have liked if they had signed one or two good veterans, but I think that four of them might unneededly temper with the roster.

However, I really like that they signed Carcillo because it seems that he's a very tough competitor and a gritty player and that might be an interesting add to the team, so Scott is not the only real tough guy on the team.

I'm also quite interested in what Steve Montador could do, and I hope that he produces both some points and good toughness.

He'll produce odd-man rushes for sure, they're just gonna be against rather than for your team.

Also Carcillo signing...this should make a Nucks - Hawks playoff game more interesting.

Well... I sure hope your wrong about Montador, but since he's only really known for some of his fights, you might be right. He got a career high 26 points last year, and he apparently did do something useful for Sabres. Haven't seen his TO stat, and, according to you, I think I'd rather not see that stat :D.

About Carcillo... well, I think that he could bring toughness on any game. I think that it would really help, because Scott has a bit of that tough guy image, but in reality... not so much. So I'm quite excited about him coming to Chicago.

This UFA REALLY sucks. Naturally Richards signs with the Rangers.

Just took a look at the numbers... 50 million in the first five years. Incredible. Everyone but the lowly Devils can use the CBA as toilet paper.
