It's possibly in wrong topic, but it's very intersting how much they play NHL04 in Russia, Latvia, Ukraina etc. Why?

They never bought never versions?, they were so much smarter that they were happy with 04?

I think they play also a lot of 09 in Eastern Europe:-) I don't see any difference to us, as I always played the most actual NHL on PC until I decided to switch back to 04 :-))

thanks Stlouis26 for the link!

@Stlouis26, yeah thats true - a lot of Latvians play nhl 09, because they think, newest is better, but is not!
And they think - what,How you can play an old game? (nhl 2004)You s*ck... e.t.c

My story:
my first nhl was nhl 09, because it is newest ! After about 3 months I found interesting info about nhl 04 flyermania!

Tried it and I like it :)

But when you imagine all the best players in NHL04, most of them are russians. Valter for example.

But i guess big country = a lot of players, ofc :)

hey guys I was watching the live feed that was a great game! nicely played :D

how many players do you guys have in your league? Maybe we can make an NHL 2004 Champions League tournament where your top 4 guys, NEHL's top 4 guys and 2 extras who do do not belong to a league participate. We have a fantasy draft, in order to pick rosters and we play it just like they do with the hockey tournaments. two groups of 5 and the top two teams in each group go on to the next round which is the playoffs and you have team A1 vs B2 and B1 vs A2. Then the very final game determines the ultimate player in NHL 2004 :D

what do you guys think? are there other top notch nhl 2004 leagues out there btw?

I have sometime had an idea about a world tournament, 2v2 or 3v3. F.e. best players from Finland playing with Finland against best from Latvia playing with Latvia, etc.

It would be great too.

one problem with the 2v2 or 4v4 is the connection apparently

No 2v2-> games work fine, a bit laggy sometimes, and over 3v3 can be messy :D but no probs with connection. My favourite is 2v2.

hey xiri I know the NEHL :P I own the tampa bay lightning, joined this year its very fun. the best thing about the NEHL is that there are no extra rules other than the obvious standard NHL rules and what happens is you play the game without worrying about things. If theres a cheap goal, who cares its your job to prevent them from scoring that type of goal. People hook a lot? Not a problem :D by positioning your players in a precise manor you can avoid getting hooked. great league.

I couldn't have said it any better Paybak. I hate gameplay rules because then it comes down to who plays the "rules' better than who actually plays the game better.

Check out my thoughts on this very thing....

Just play the damn game and have fun.
