Nicklas Lidstrom has announced his decision to retire... http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=633292
He was an example of a perfect defender. A symbol of the Red Wings. Sad, but the show must go on.

He was one of my favourite players. I only cheered for him when he played for Sweden but really impressed by his style and how successful it was during different eras of hockey and his longetivity. 1000+ pts by a fwd is amazing, by a dman it's unbelievable.

He will go back to Sweden and I hope he will do something hockey-related.

A great sportsman and soon a HOFer.

Amazing, classy player. All I can say. Loved to see him playing.

#5 will definitely stand at the rafters of the Joe. And HHOF as well. He'll probably return to the Wings, Ken Holland said, for a front-office job or something.

Regards,

Franco

Here are his first two points, notice what Chris Cuthbert or whatever his name is says about Nick :D btw this video shows how much I hate nostalgic people who always tell me about the good old days in the gardens when the building was rocking...really? is it rocking in this clip? its also against the hated red wings...jeez anyways...
