The launcher already supports multiple NHL 2004 folders. The way it currently works is you put launcher.exe in each NHL 2004 folder you have and it will automatically set the registry key to that folder right before launching the game. You can also change the path each install uses for My Documents by changing the MyDocsPath config option. For instance, you can move the files and folders from 'My Documents\NHL 2004' to 'Game Install\My Documents' so each install can have it's own self-contained My Documents folder. |

Are you using an exe that has been unlimited fight patched? It requires an unpatched version of 1.04 to run. Unlimited fights can be done with the launcher, however. |

I only provide full support for the NHL2004.exe in the most recent interface builds: http://z15.invisionfree.com/NHL04Rebuilt/i...php?showtopic=1 http://www.mediafire.com/download/512f73oi...b/Interface.rar |

Antialiasing smooths edges of polygons. Here's an example: http://nullreferrer.com/r/?http://www.twea...ntialiasing.gif Anisotropic filtering fixes the problem of distant textures appearing blurry at oblique viewing angles: http://nullreferrer.com/r/?http://www.twea...Anisotropic.gif VSync makes the game wait for a complete refresh cycle before flipping buffers in order to prevent tearing. This effectively locks the game at the refresh rate of your monitor. VSync off (Tearing): http://nullreferrer.com/r/?http://theosper...ar_tearing2.gif VSync on (No tearing): http://nullreferrer.com/r/?http://theosper...no_tearing1.gif Triple buffering can improve the performance of VSync, but may result in input lag. The FOV modifier setting adds to the default field of view. Simply put, the higher the FOV, the more zoomed out the camera will be. This can also be a negative value to zoom in. To change the dynasty start year, open launcher.ini in wordpad (or any other word processor) and add:
X is the year. So for 2013, you would put:
Launcher.ini is automatically created in the same folder as Launcher.exe after you run it the first time. So you'll have the launch the game once via Launcher.exe, then quit the game and modify Launcher.ini. |

i hate to be a bug, but since i've installed this my game has a couple things that i'd love to have fixed so i can actually play it again let me say that i'm not doubting the awesomeness of this, cuz the crispness of my game is SO much better, but since ive installed this my game is choppy as all get out, and the gameplay is fast as hell now i'm sure there is an easy fix, but being that i don't really understand what each of the features do (thanks Vod for the explanation btw) i've tried tinkering, but can't get the game to run slower and smoother. please someone help me get my game back the way it was

I don't know what you mean by "my game is choppy as all get out". Are you saying that you have a low FPS? You can check it by hitting F11.
Did you look at the before and after pics I posted? They should clear up what those features do. |

yeah i guess the FPS low maybe? i'm not entirely sure. didn't know i could check using F11 most of the links you posted lead to an actual site, not actual pics. So no i didn't get to see the difference between both. Sorry to be a pain my man :edit: ok so i just ran it again, and it shows that my FPS while playing the game is usually between 4-6. what should it be for smooth gameplay? |

With VSync enabled, the optimum FPS is the refresh rate of your monitor. (60 for most people) |

Hey vod i have a question about something that puzzles me. Its not about your launcher. I extracted the content of nhl2004.exe and i opened some files in a hex editor and i frequently see this location mentioned: ![]() What is it and what does it mean? |

If you're interested in helping with reverse engineering, you should download a debugger such as ollydbg.
