Nice screenshots, and thanks for the compliments. For the next major version (1.5) I'll be focusing on LUA scripting and texture/model/shader injecting, which will open countless possibilities for new mods. Being able to set the amount of fights (replaces fighting patch) will be coming next week in version 1.41. This release will also have bug fixes (if necessary).
1) It sets the starting year for dynasty mode. 2) Add CreateLog = 1 to launcher.ini. After it crashes, copy and paste the contents of "Launcher Log.txt" |

Holy shit those screenshots look awesome. ![]() Can we save the wide angle fight somewhere and use it with the default EXE? |

I don't think I understand the question. If you want to use the FOV in the zoomed out fight screenshot, just hit F10 a few times when the fight starts. |

I meant that perhaps it could possible to save the FOV settings to the memory... so that the next time you start the launcher you'd automatically get the same values for fighting. Or maybe it is possible already... just started playing with this. It's pretty awesome indeed. |

It's not possible yet to automatically set the FOV when a fight starts. You can only manually increase or decrease the FOV using hotkeys. Detecting when a fight starts and ends is possible, it just hasn't been done yet. |

Cool. This is OT but just imagine if the programmers made a little random system to the fighting... it'd be nice if the fight wouldn't actually materialize sometimes but the players would just get minors or double minors for roughing... and it would play a little roughing cutscene there. All those little things are missing from all hockey games... little cool things that'd make the game even better. I also wonder why they dropped the ingame lineups. In the earlier games... up to 2003 you always saw the lineups for both teams during the 1st period. I really liked that feature. I don't remember if that ever came back to the later console years. |

Alright, so weird thing happened yesterday. Decided to try it again and it worked (!??). Downloaded the newer version of the launcher, and now I get an error which says "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." I get the same error if I try to run the NHL2004.exe file on its own. I checked the properties, and it's set to run as administrator and I've given full access to the file for all users so I have no idea how this could be happening. |

Are you using the no-cd crack that comes with the 04 rebuilt mod? If so, can you try the 1.04 no-cd by drunk?
That will be possible in a future version. In the next major version you'll only be able to change/remove them for all players, not individual players. More reverse engineering work still needs to be done. |

Will it be possible to have other players on the ice during a fight like how nhl 14 will do it? |

I doubt it, considering on how far the camera angle will be for fights, I think thats why they didn't put them on in the first place |

There are very few limits, so the answer to most "is it possible" questions is yes. Is it probable? Not anytime soon since only one person is working on reverse engineering, so it will be a very slow process. The next major version (1.5) will include texture injecting using LUA scripts, which alone will be a pretty big leap for NHL 2004. This will allow for things such as dynamically replacing or updating textures based on certain variables, such as making a texture get dirtier as the game progress, or making everyone in the crowd have a unique texture (probably not a wise idea), or animating textures that aren't normally animated (such as screens in the arena), or making the skate marks one big texture that extends across the ice, instead of a small repeating texture.. And that's just a few of the countless possibilities. This feature uses standard .dds files and can completely replace editing .fsh and .viv files, so the arbitrary limits that come with those formats can be a thing of the past. 3d model, sound and shader injecting will also be coming, so there will be no need to reverse engineer tricky EA formats or figure out the source of sounds or 3d models. Instead, it will support standard sound and 3d model file formats. |

All of this sounds cool to me, I would like to have changing LED rinks, in NHL 09 they find the way how to made it, so with all of this, it should be possible. I have tons of ideas, but for first I have to know how it all works. So I will wait for next progress. |

Animated wrap around LED display will definitely be possible. You'll also be able to draw on the texture in real-time within the LUA script, such as score, time and whatever other info is available. |
