This season has been a blast, thanks for all participants. The new system works great. New stuff learned in season 2013-2014: Slappuck! (Bobby, you ruined konopes' cup chances :perfect:) Saucer goals Wrister goal from the slot Quicker passing (just ram the pass buttom like slappucking) Hook dodging with poke check Changing direction just before hook to lead the hooking player away Better passive puck control Improved manual goaltending in all situations ...more manual goaltender abuse Thanks to Julz for many of these, it's obviously a good thing to get new guys who think out of the box! ![]() A testament to 2004's greatness is the fact we're still learning new stuff ten years into the game. Main changes coming up for next season: FM/EA overall merges - this will mostly increase defensive types' overalls. Some goalie rework to tie them closer to their overall Endurance rework, putting a premium on veterans. More utility differences in defensemen (faster OFDs etc.) Higher agility for playmakers and offensive defensemen Improved puck control (higher balance ratings, higher puck control attributes for those deserving) Some passing AI changes (faster standard pass, slower saucer) Possibly poke check 2->1 after playtesting The aim is to make puck control and creative play easier and more effective to balance the playfield vs counter attack hockey, which is 04's inherent golden boy anyway. |

Hey Zalta great job again and many thanks for helping to increase the longevity of NHL2004 and the NEHL! The changes for next season sound great and will definitely lead to a more diverse group of players and less cookie cutter. The more we can define and recreate each players role within the game the more challenge building a team will become. |
