Hello everyone! I've tried to get NHL 2000 work on Windows 7 for a long time, but not working. I tried to run SETUP.exe on compatibility mode on Windows 95, 98 and XP but there comes an error message, Not compatibility with 64bit system. Tried to move "NHL2K" folder (there's game and other data's) from ISO file to Computer, run the game, but nothing happens, there's only that light blue load ring where's that mouse image. Tried to run game on Compatibility mode, but not working. Does someone have solution for this? I so much want to play this game. It's not same with PS1.

Get a 32 bit version of Windows 7.
If I ran away, I'd never have the strength
To go very far
How would they hear the beating of my heart
Will it grow cold
The secret that I hide, will I grow old
How will they hear
When will they learn
How will they know

After a Google search. No one has found how to get 2000 to work on a 64bit OS yet. I hope you honestly didn't think a 15 year old game would work on a new OS.

I think it would work. Is there any risks when installing it?

Hmm, Could some file code changing work? I'm not actually very good at that. :P But there's possible get old FIFA's work, but how? :thinking: There's something, how to get FIFA 99 get work on Windows 7 64bit Operating System:

Quote:

Fix Manual installation • Link
Create a folder named FIFA 99 somewhere on your hard disk (recommended location: C:\games\FIFA 99).
From a root folder of FIFA cd copy files EACSND.DLL, FIFA99.EXE and FIFA99.ICO to FIFA 99 folder on your hard drive.
Copy folders DATA, SETUP and THRASH to FIFA 99 folder on your hard disk.
Create a folder named USER in your FIFA 99 folder.
If you had placed them in C:\Games\FIFA 99 then your folder structure would look like this:
C:\games\FIFA 99\DATA\ *files*
C:\games\FIFA 99\SETUP\ *files*
C:\games\FIFA 99\THRASH\ *files*
C:\games\FIFA 99\USER\ *empty folder*
C:\games\FIFA 99\EACSND.DLL
C:\games\FIFA 99\FIFA99.EXE
C:\games\FIFA 99\FIFA99.ICO
Now you need the registry entries. Copy the following into Notepad and save it as fifa.reg. Edit file paths if necessary. CD Drive should point have a latter of your CD drive. Install Dir should point to a location where FIFA 99 is installed.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\EA SPORTS\FIFA 99]
"DisplayName"="FIFA 99"
"Language"="english"
"CD Drive"="D:\\"
"Install Dir"="C:\\games\\FIFA 99"
"3D Device Description"="Software Renderer"
"3D Card"="Software Renderer"
"Thrash Driver"="softtri"
"Group"="Software"
"D3D Device"=dword:00000000
"Triple Buffer"=dword:00000000
"Hardware Acceleration"=dword:00000000
"Thrash Resolution"="640x480"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\EA SPORTS\FIFA 99\1.0]
"DisplayName"="FIFA 99"
"Language"=dword:00000001
Add entries to system registry by double clicking on fifa.reg.
Now, you should be able to start a game using FIFA99.EXE on your hard disk.
Notes
Information If the game doesn't start, double check the paths added to system registry. Launch regedit.exe and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\EA SPORTS\FIFA 99. Check entries CD Drive and Install Dir. As mentioned earlier CD Drive should point to your CD drive (either physical of virtual). If your CD drive has a latter G, the value for CD Drive should be G:\. Install Dir should point to a folder where you've placed files from FIFA 99. E.g. if you've played them in C:\Program Files\FIFA 99, change the value for Install Dir to C:\Program Files\FIFA 99.
Information If problems with graphics occur, try using nGlide wrapper.

Not really. VMWare is just a program that lets you install and use a virtual operating system within an operating system lol. You're not really overwriting the OS.

I know that it doesn't overwrite my current OS, but if something could go wrong, that would be bad thing.

Guys, I got 32 bit Windows 7 :D I tried NHL 99 and it worked great, (Except the videos, on videos, Half of the screen is green and other half of the screen is black, but it doesn't bother me.) I tried NHL 2000, but it doesn't open! I installed the game, started-up nhl2k.exe, but nothing happens. Tried even on "Run as administrator", but nothing happens. I checked from Task Manager and nhl2k.exe was running a while, then it exited. I got NHL 2000 from Uloz.to. It was in France and Czech. I don't know, was the game corrupted, because the game size is under 500 MB and if I remember right, it would be something like: 560 MB? Well, do any of you know place to get this game free? If yes, please, can you PM to me? I so much want to play this game!

Hello,

I am not sure the file is corrupted. I downloaded nhl 2000 from Uloz and tried it on my old win xp laptop i still have. I installed the game properly, changed the .exe file with no cd crack i found and launched the game. It always crashed...

I found another version (english, sweddish and finnish) on kat.ph torrent website and I get the same issue. I think it comes from .exe file. The no cd cracks do not work with these both versions of the game despite the name of the cracks let you think it does.

Finally I succeeded to play the game after 1 full day of tests and internet tutorials. It works on my old win xp laptop and I hope soon on my new laptop with Windows 7 (64 bit).
I installed Virtualbox and tried on both Windows xp sp2 and windows 7 (32 bit) versions. The result is the same. The game can be launched cause I hear the introduction song but the screen remains black. If you can fix this out I think you will be able to play it on Virtualbox (depending on the capacity of Virtualbox to deal with 3D nevertheless).

Here's how I proceeded:

1/ Download torrent version from kat.ph (search nhl 2000 - file size 596.08MB)

2/ This is not .iso file. There are all the files you can find in the original nhl 2000 CD. You can try install it but you will get error message saying you have to install it from CD. As there is no CD you just can't go further. You thus need to create an .iso file from all these files. I did it with cdburnerxp pro. Very esay to use (choose all the files with CTRL + A and drag and drop, then save as .iso).

3/ Then I mounted the .iso file I got on Dameon Tools Lite and installed the game (as you and I did with french version from Uloz).

4/ I changed the .exe file with no cd crack found on internet and it also crashed. That's why I assume crash comes from .exe file. You have then to create your own no cd .exe file. Use unsafedisc to do so. You can download it from http://nastydesign.free.fr/interface.php?page=safedisc
If you don't understand french just find unsafedisc.exe on this page and click on the link you will be able to download it. Once you downloaded it, copy it in different folder as you installed nhl 2000. Than launch it, choose Decrypt game. Find NHL2K.icd file in the folder you installed nhl 2000 and click on Ouvrir. You will get a message "job done icd decrypted". It created 1 or 2 .exe files where you installed NHL 2000. This or these .exe files are nammed something like "testme.exe". You need now to replace the nhl2k.exe file with the new .exe created from unsafedisc. Cut and paste the original nhl2k.exe file in another folder and rename the testme.exe in nhl2k.exe in the folder you installed nhl 2000.

5/ Then you can launched your game it won't crash. Launch it from the shortcut on your desktop. I do not know why but sometimes it does not work when I launch the game from .exe file in the folder I installed the game...

I did it on virtualbox and the game is launched (I can hear the introduction song) but the screen remains black. I won't go further to investigate this as it now works on my old windows xp laptop but I hope it can help as now you just have to deal with a Virtualbox issue and not a game issue.

You can also try to create a valid no cd .exe file (from step 4) with the version you get from Uloz. Keep me posted :)

@pastek17
Well, i downloaded NHL 2000.iso from uloz.to, I was able to install it to 32bit Windows 7 Ultimate, but game doesn't show-up. I checked programs from Task Manager and the game was running, but can't see the game. NHL 2000 runs only few seconds and then it will shut down. Tries some register edits, other no-cd cracks, Running as administrator, compatibility mode, but nothing. NHL 2000 demo works fine. :thinking: And other old NHL video games works, but NHL 98 was laggy and slow even in main menu and audio was broken. :D I've to test Daemon Tools to NHL 2000. I did use PowerISO to mount .iso image. Lets see is there some differences between PowerISO and Daemon Tools.

Guys, I found that every time I launch NHL 2000, at the same time Windows Error Report program will start up and when Windows Error Report shuts down, NHL 2000 shuts down as well. I was checking the thing from Task Manager. I was thinking if it would be about high RAM usage. I turned down every possible program, started the game, but same thing happens. What do you think what's wrong? I've no idea. :blink:
