So I installed the game and everything and moved past the white screen to finally get to the menu. But now I cannot select anything on the menu and I searched around on google and it seems that the problem is that I have IE11? Apparently this game only works on IE8? So I have not downloaded any mods or anything yet just wanted to see if the game worked. Anywho, it seems impossible to get IE8 for my laptop since it is virtually outdated. So what should I do next to make this work? |

Both the Vanilla game and the various mods have been made compatible with any IE version ![]() If you wanna play the original, unmodded game, you need this: http://nhl04rebuilt.com/index.php?showtopic=2101 Otherwise, you may have some compatibility problems If you simply wanna play one of our mods, install it and you should be good to go ![]() Cheers

When I first installed nhl 04 about a week ago I was having the exact same problem. I tried so many different things with no success. The one that eventually worked for me was installing the game to a short directory not the default one. |

Should I just install the interface mod or do I need to install everything? Also, do you know how I can get my 360 controller to work for the game? |

When I try to start the game after updating the rosters this is what it says: "Your 3D accelerator card and/or your video card could not be initialized properly. Please update the drivers for your 3D and/or video card. Contact your manufacturer to obtain the latest drivers." Is this because my graphics card is not enough or is there some other problem? Is there any way to turn my graphics settings to low? I have the standard Intel 4000 graphics card but it plays fairly recent games in medium quality. |

Of course, if you install a mod you need to install everything as it's all interconnected -- the game will crash if a part is missing ![]() About 360 controllers, the triggers and right stick don't work as far as I know (I have to use my PS3 pad), but you should wait for Vod's Launcher 1.5, which should make Xinput controllers compatible ![]() Can't help you about the graphics card, could be that the game doesn't support it, but don't take my word for it

Not being able to click on anything is usually a permissions problem. Installing the game to any folder other than program files usually fixes it. |

Yeah the normal game without all the mods works fine but it's just the graphics issue I am having so I want to know if there is any way for the graphics to be downgraded a little bit so they can work. I am thinking that the issue is that my GPU can't handle the graphics. |

I also had this problem which I solved by unchecking one of the options in vods launcher. I can't remember what it was called exactly but it was 3 quarters down on the list and there is 2 options beside each other. I unchecked the left one and it works fine with no errors. As far as x360 controller I use xpadder and set the controller buttons to the keyboard controls. Justake sure you run xpadder as administrator and in windows xp service pack 3 compatibility mode. The game wouldn't recognize my xpadder settings unless I did that. |

I had the same problem when I first tried NHL04 My Solution: I installed the game to a short path C:/NHL2004 instead of C:/Program Files/etc... Hope this would fix your issues like it did to mine! |

Yeah the shorter path seems to be working but I am having trouble such as Dynasty mode suddenly crashing. And this is preceded by the script stopped working window. |

If you don't post a screenshot of the said script error, it's quite difficult to help. If you unblocked the interface and extracted it normally, then run NHL2004.exe as an administrator. Right click -> run as admin. |

Hi everyone! Sorry this is kinda a bummer first thread... I just want to play NHL 2004 vanilla (for now), it worked before when I downgraded IE 9 to IE 8 a ways back, but now that same stupid mouse problem is back! I already downloaded your fix and it hasn't solved it. I was automatically updated to IE 11 (I also hadn't played NHL 2004 in quite some time, I was playing NHL 14 on 360 but now I'm working overseas and don't have access to my console, so I wanna just play vanilla 2004) Can you guys also patch it up to make it work with IE 11? IE 11 just flat out refuses to be uninstalled.    anyway yeah. Go Canucks Go!
