First of all thanks to all of you for your incredible work here - just found your wonderful little community the other day and I am loving the flashbacks I'm having working with this game. Until yesterday. I tried out the "Shootout Practice" for the first time, but when I attempted to play a regular game again, anything I attempt loads a shootout. Season, playoffs, regular game, anything - only shootout mode appears. I've tried to dump my user files, run a completely fresh install of everything, and it still won't work. I have noticed, however, that my selected team skin in the menu doesn't go away either - but I'm not sure where this file could be given that I've deleted EVERYTHING on each install. As well, my game crashes each time I "Quit" from a game or, in the current case, a shootout. Not as big of an issue, but still an annoyance. Here's the script: NHL2004.exe has stopped working. Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: NHL2004.exe Application Version: 0.0.0.0 Application Timestamp: 72454562 Fault Module Name: KERNELBASE.dll Fault Module Version: 6.1.7601.18409 Fault Module Timestamp: 53159a86 Exception Code: c00000fd Exception Offset: 0000ee9e OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 2495 Additional Information 2: 2495a004244d440b750e6b4bb83395cf Additional Information 3: 62a2 Additional Information 4: 62a242982c35063bd63ab539cd27de6e Any help would be great! Thanks again. |

I'm wondering if this could be something to do with Ruspatch.exe, or other additional EXEs in \NHL 2004 folder. Your virus software might have deleted some of the essential files in that folder. Or is alternatively blocking them. Weird issue indeed.

I've set up the antivirus to completely ignore the install folder, and also unblocked ruspatch just to be sure - still no good. I do have the game running off of two separate drives; will this mod possibly have problems with that? (i.e., all my game files are on the E: drive, while my OS and MyDocs, etc. are on the C: drive). |

Well I've found a fix, albeit it may not be permanent. I believe the Raptr gaming client was causing it to crash. As for the shootout, I simply reset the rules to default in the game setup - and that seemed to fix it. Weird. |

Cool. Personally, I hate all kinds of "clients". I even removed the Steam App because it was slowing down my system and causing all kinds of issues. |
