Multiple script errors upon start up

I installed the game to C:/NHL 2004
I unblocked the Interface.rar before unzipping.
I added the exes as exceptions in my antivirus and firewall (and tried turning both completely off)
I'm running nhl 2004.exe and the launcher as administrator.

But when I start the game I just get a bunch of script errors. Here are the first four (there are 16 in total):

Most of the other errors are also 'object expected' errors. If I click through the errors I'm just left with a white screen no matter how long I leave it for.

I tried reseting my internet options as suggested in this thread to no effect.

I'm in windows 7 64 bit. I have two monitors if that makes a difference.

Any ideas as to what is wrong?

Thanks,

I did unblock the interface.rar before unzipping (and then after it didn't work the first time I did the whole procedure again - including redownloading and unblocking it - with the same result).

Here's a majestic Spoonbill:

That looks very much like the unblock issue to me.

Also right click NHL2004.exe and run as administrator.

I originally did (and redid) both of those things.

I'm using 7Zip. Could that be a problem?

I tried it with Winrar- no luck.

My default web browser is Opera. That couldn't make a difference could it? Just throwing it out there since I have no idea what's wrong.

Edit: Tried making chrome the default, same problem.

Your default browser has nothing to do with it.

If unblocking doesn't help it might be some kind of folder permission problem.

I tried changing the file permissions of interface.rar, the folder interface.rar was contained in, the NHL 2004 folder and its subfolders and files so that all users have full control. No change. Not when logged in to my standard account and right clicking > run as administrator, and not when I'm in the admin account either.

So you have set full permission to .rar.

right click .rar --> Preferences --> security tab --> Set full permissions --> extract with 7zip

I got it to work.

I did a full uninstall of the game with Revo Uninstaller (to get rid of the registry keys) and reinstalled the game from my administrator account. I had been running everything as admin anyway so I don't know why it would make a difference but it works now so all's well that end's well.

Thanks for all your help guys, the mod looks great so far. There goes my chance of doing work this evening, lol.
