Hi all! Congratulations on making this game a great success! Vod I just have a quick question..I was wondering if you can help me out. I unblocked the interface and extracted it to the game's path C:/nhl2004, overwrote all of the files yet always get a straight crash when loaded. The error I keep getting is: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: NHL2004.exe Application Version: 0.0.0.0 Application Timestamp: 72454562 Fault Module Name: ntdll.dll Fault Module Version: 6.1.7601.18933 Fault Module Timestamp: 55a69e20 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 000374d9 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 4105 Additional Information 1: ab3f Additional Information 2: ab3fc48940afd88c749bdece65e2e118 Additional Information 3: 2b96 Additional Information 4: 2b96e74c04e3a18bc3f631ebd1b5a27f Every once in a blue moon I get this crash though it is very rare: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: NHL2004.exe Application Version: 0.0.0.0 Application Timestamp: 72454562 Fault Module Name: NHL2004.exe Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 72454562 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 00026d0d OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 4105 Additional Information 1: ab3f Additional Information 2: ab3fc48940afd88c749bdece65e2e118 Additional Information 3: 2b96 Additional Information 4: 2b96e74c04e3a18bc3f631ebd1b5a27f Steps I followed in order: 1.) Unblocking interface 2.) Extracting interface to C:/nhl2004 and overwriting files 3.) Attempting to run with launcher (as admin; no compatability change) 4.) Running launcher with different compatability settings 5.) Updating all drivers 6.) Replacing ntdll.dll 7.) Going through a fresh install 8.) Manually adding BrowserEngine and Becontrols dlls to registry. Still no matter what I try it crashes. PC Specs are as follows: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit i7 2600 - 3.4ghz Radeon 6950 4gb video ram 8gb Ram Dx11 IE 10 (I have heard that some IE's cause crashes) I appreciate all of your help in advance. If you need anymore details please let me know

That's a bad idea.. Did the game work before installing the rebuilt interface? |

No it did not. Still received the same errors. The two copies I have tried using did work years ago on my older pcs. I was considering installing XP and have my pc function as a dual boot OS. Do you think that would get the job done? |

It might, but it's probably overkill. When does the crash happen? |

The crash occurs after I have opened the launcher and press launch. I have tried with different resolution settings as well. I have made sure the NHL path is excluded from my AV's watch list. I have ensured that all files are unblocked and not read only. |

Nate, Check in your Launcher.ini file for Windowed = 1 and if that isn't there, add it on a new line. I wasn't able to run the Launcher without that line, it crashed for me as well. I hope that helps. Cheers, Glen |

Thanks for your reply Glen! I added windowed = 1 and it crashed differently than it used to. With windowed = 1 in the ini file it comes up straight away with a crash error (nhl2004.exe has stopped working). Without that line added, the screen goes black in attempts to open the game then displays a white screen in what looks like 800 x 600 resolution and displays the crash error nhl.exe stopped working. Okay an update here. For the heck of it I tried entering windowed = 2. And it opened properly and I could see the updated interface menu. So then I closed to test if that actually solved the problem, and it went back to crashing immediately. I can't help but feel we are getting somewhere :). |

Any number higher than 1 is the same as setting it to 1. Have you tried completely disabling all security software? Not just adding exceptions, but completely disabling it. |
