I installed NHL 2004 on a external hdd to save it to my games collection and everything worked. I read the tip to copy the whole folder. When I copied it to my internal drive it still worked, but only when my external drive was connected too (wtf, and yes I use the launcher in the NEW directory). When I start the game from my internal drive, with the external disconnected, it says "NHL 2004.exe stopped working..". I thought it might be because I created a season from my external to try the game. But even with this season deleted I'm not able to play it without my external hdd. Any ideas how to solve this? Or should I repeat the whole installation process in the new directory? btw, great game. I've played NHL 08 and 13 a lot and I wasn't able to win in 04 rebuilt, I freaked out a few times. Now I play with player advantage +3 and goalie advantage +0, now it's really hard to win two thirds of the games. It's still way more exhausting than anything I played before

Try running this batch file in the NHL 2004 folder that is on your internal hard drive: |
| NHL 2004 Launcher | My Changelog | NHL 2004 Preservation | NHL 2004 Debugger | |

Thanks for the fast support. I tried it once with my external hdd connected and once without. I got an error message in both cases: "The module "becontrols_pc_z.dll" was loaded but the call to DIIRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80070005. For more information about this problem, search online using the error code as a search term." Edit: There are two error messages. One about "becontrols_pc_z.dll" and one about "BrowserEnginge_pc_z.dll". The error code is the same in both messages. |

It sounds like you don't have admin permissions. When you tried launcher.exe, did you run it as admin? (Right-click Launcher.exe -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Run this program as an administrator) Here's another version of that batch file with admin privileges. Remember to run it from within your NHL 2004 folder on your internal hard drive: |
