Hey Guys, Got myself a brand new gaming rig, thing works like a beast with most games, however I can't seem to install NHL 2004. I have the original discs, both are clean as a whistle, yet my install can't get past 3% before freezing and giving up. Is this a problem with Windows 10? Or is it something wrong with my discs I'm just not seeing? I would LOVE to get NHL 2004 going on my new machine... but right now it looks like that isn't going to happen =( |

Probably just the discs. Game works fine on W10, unless you install it to C:\Program Files path. Don't do it. PS: Check your pm. |

Installed the game, installed the Interface.exe and ran it, but when I try to use the laucher, I get an error stating my 3d Video card drivers could not be initialized and I need an updated driver. This can't be the case, because my drivers are up to date and work fine. I did notice that I don't have a NHL 2004 folder in documents, but I think I need the game to start so that it will add that, no? I'm completely confused, Never had an issue on windows 7, and figured buying a new gaming pc this would be a snap. Obviously, for newer games that is so, but being that this was a game from 2003 I guess there's more hoops to jump through. |

open launcher.ini in a word processor and add "Windowed = 1" without the quotes. |

That worked! The game runs, but it runs in a tiny screen for the menus (I have a 1920x1080 monitor) and then when the game starts the window gets bigger and I have to drag it into place. Is this normal? If so, it's all good, just something I'll get used to. Thanks soooo much for getting it running on my new machine! This is awesome! |

Define "tiny screen". Interface menus are locked to 800 x 600 resolution. You should have black bars left and right of the screen, but the interface height should be full. That's normal and it's done this way because otherwise the graphics would be badly distorted. Game itself should fill the whole screen. |

Tiny screen as in, it now opens up a window that only fills about 40% of my screen. I can see the rest of my desktop as if I was running a small internet browser window. When I load up a game after selecting jerseys etc... the window grows to the size that can fit my screen, but is in the corner of my screen and has to be dragged in place. I know on my windows 7 computer, the window was automatically fill my screen, with the black bars that you are describing. Now I have partial windows that change in size between menus and gameplay. |

![]() That's an image of what my desktop looks like after launching the launcher. As you can see, it's a small window. The gameplay window grows in size, but isn't in place and has to be dragged so I can see the screen. |

This is something it bugged me for a long time now. Basically that was the only reason I was reluctant in upgrading to Windows 10. Apparently, this is the only way we can get the game to work for now. This is exactly what this Windowed = 1 does. Menu is a window like your picture but in-game is whatever you choose on Launcher setup. Long story short, I upgraded to Windows 10 and I really don't know what I did, but my game works perfectly in full screen both for menu and in-game. Menu has two black bars on the side like trent said, but it's not windowed. The sad part is I have no clue what I did to be like this. I just know it works. Maybe in the near future we can have a solution for this 3D accelerator problem. Regards, Franco MDH |

I have this same problem with Win 8.1. and I was told in a thread below this, that the next version of the launcher will have a full screen window option. |

That looks normal to me. The main menu is always 800x600, whether you're in a full screen or window. |

launcher.ini should be in the main folder after installing the interface.exe. Just like the launcher.exe |
