Win 10 Immediate Crash

So I came across this awesome community tonight after browsing NHL PC games and found that there are mods for NHL 04. So I found my old PC games collection and found my copy of 04 and installed it quickly. I followed the instructions to install the 2015-2016 mod.

Installed everything on my second hard drive which is D:\NHL 2004. However, after runing launcher.exe in Windows XP SP3 mode I get this white screen and an immediate crash.

I also noticed that the game did not create a file in my documents. So I made a folder under C:\Users\raide\Documents\NHL 2004.

I've also copied the whole directory from D:\NHL 2004 onto C:\NHL 2004 and it has the same issues.

Any help would be appreciated.

You cannot create that NHL 2004 folder to ../Documents/. Game should create that or it won't work. You should delete that folder before trying again.

So, we have to think about why it won't start, because it cannot create that folder before that.

Did you try to start the game before you extracted interface?
Did you run the launcher as an admin?

Did you try to launch the game more than 3 times in a row from a launcher?

I'll delete the folder and try again.

1) Tried to start Vanilla and it crashed immediately just like now.
2) Launcher.exe was used as an Admin in Windows XP SP3 comp. mode.
3) Forget how many times I've attempted to launch the game from Launcher.exe

Folder was deleted. Launcher.exe crashed until the third time. It now is just a white window. Nothing is happening with the game.

seems like you and I are having the same problems with the game not even starting. I am also running a pretty new custom gaming computer and windows 10 and I am waiting for some answers.

Game might crash 3 times when you start it. At least I had the same thing sometimes but after that it will start and I will see the white screen.

Anyway, after waiting 2-5 minutes with a white screen the game starts. You should wait at least 5 minutes. :)

Ok, so I have the same problem as the guys described. I already tried all suggestion either on this thread or the main one. Still NHL2004.exe crashing and I don't even get to the white screen waiting. Is there anything more I could do? Thanks

I ended up just giving up on mine. Seems like newer computers have a tough time running these files. I tried everything in the forums and nobody seemed to have an answer

Try to disable the intro video by adding a line "DisableIntro = 1" to launcher.ini

Also try to reinstall the interface and run the launcher and nhl .exe as an admin.
