Do you have any security software running that might be blocking the DLL injection? I would also advise against setting XP compatibility mode for launcher.exe unless you've tried everything else. |

Good morning, I have a question. My intention is to be able to play the original game without the error of Internet Explorer and in widescreen. Is this launcher the same thing as downloading the interface file from rebuilt 2016-17? With the launcher only I would keep the original menus without locks and widescreen format? Which launcher would be more stable for this task, 1.45 or this? Many thanks. |

1) Install the base game to a folder other than program files 2) Download and install the preservation project: http://z15.invisionfree.com/NHL04Rebuilt/i...?showtopic=2101 3) Download the rebuilt interface and only copy the nhl2004.exe to your game folder, replacing the original 4) Install launcher 1.45: http://z15.invisionfree.com/NHL04Rebuilt/i...?showtopic=1744 |

Penalty time adjustments is a real killer in the newest Launcher. I had one game going to THIRD OT in Philly 1999 season. That was the most memorable game I've ever played in NHL04. |

@Bigrowdy: I'm glad you like it. ![]() @Trent: Agreed. It's a shame that EA didn't add more game options. The next version will have a lot more options for tweaking the gameplay.

Can someone explain me what exactly is needed for animated upper adds? I understand the folder structure in launcher, but is required some special format or animated gif? |

For adding Teams: It's all done procedurally. No predefined animations needed 1) Create a definition file in launcher\scripts\modules\upper ads\. Just copy one of the existing ones and replace the contents with your own information. The file name is the abbreviation of the team .lua 2) Navigate to launcher\media\textures\upper ads\logos\ 3) Add two image files for your team. A 64x64 logo and a 256x256 logo. let's say it's Toronto you want to add, the logo files have to be named TOR-64.png and TOR-256.png. For adding new animations: New animations can be added to the module files on a team by team basis using the callbacks. But right now all modules use default animations. To edit the default animations, open launcher\scripts\user\Upper Ads.lua. Look for the functions: DefaultGoalHome(Frame) and DefaultGeneric(Frame). All of the animation is done procedurally by code. It's done that way to save time in terms of art development and it allows us to draw game information on the fly. DefaultGoalHome and DefaultGeneric take a single parameter called "Frame". This number is the total number of animation frames that have elapsed. The animation FPS is defined in the module file for each team. The script uses a high resolution timer to ensure smooth animation regardless of FPS. Using the Frame variable, we can do some basic math to create all kinds of animations. In the case of the goal animation, we simply use it to make the "GOAL!" text flash. It works by multiplying the frame by 10, dividing that by 200 and then we look at the remainder. If the remainder is less than 100, we use the value divided by 100 to create an alpha value of 0.0 to 1.0 to fade in, otherwise we use the inverse for fading out. It will then repeat indefinitely. |

Ok i manage to run couple of animated ads, its not that hard but some stuff is quite tricky - like you have to use NHL ads.ord/orl model fo proper work, in my czech version I had a different model which didnt work well. Nevermind, thanks a lot Vod, great addition I must say! Quick question, has any textures in ads in arena.viv any inpact on animated upper ads? Or how to define the background of the add? I see all are black with color line at the bottom, is there any way to change it? Or maybe to add more variations? One last question, is there any way, to implement in Launcher option for type of Overtime? Im using mostly my Czech mod, where im playing EU league. I know someone fix setting for NHL season, but in EU leagues, is somewhere hardcoded, that playoff OT is alway 5 min + shootouts. Would be great if in Launcher we could set type of OT, cause shootouts are really pain in ass... |

1) Yeah, the animation can look strange if the surface is not modeled correctly. That has to be fixed in the model. In terms of it appearing at all, all that matters is that you know the .fsh IDs of the textures on the upper ads. The model doesn't matter. You can add or remove .fsh IDs for each team in Launcher\Scripts\Modules\Upper Ads\team.lua 2) It matters in that the game still loads the textures from the viv and keeps them in memory. So you have both the launcher and default game textures loaded. That's why it's best to replace the .fsh textures in the .viv with dummy 4x4 textures. The launcher supports more texture formats, loads them faster right from a folder and gives you more freedom. There's really no point in even using .fsh arena textures anymore. Why mess with all those barely-working tools when you can just save a .png .dds file in a folder and the launcher will automatically inject it? launcher\media\textures\inject\FSHID.png or .dds Or for team-based launcher\media\textures\inject\home team abbreviation\FSHID.png or .dds 3) The backgrounds are stored in: launcher\media\textures\upper ads\. For more variation, you would have to edit the script. 4) Sure, it's possible |

Sure. I don't see why not. Fun fact: There are hidden camera modes in the game that you'll be able to mess with in the next version. In total there are 16. Some are more practical than others.. ![]() ![]()

Your white screen problem is not caused by the launcher. I have no idea what the cause is because there's no way for me to replicate it. The only cause I know of is becontrols_pc_z.dll not being registered, but the launcher automatically registers it, and you said you already went through the list in the error solutions list. You'll have to just try random things on your system until you figure it out. If you do, let us know. A lot of people would benefit from it. The white screen should be nothing more than a flicker. |

So, It Worked. I Reinstalled everything and installed Launcher 1.5.0 ,but i needed to wait like 10 minutes and then the white screen disappeared. And now i need to wait like 5 minutes for the main menu to pop up. idk what went wrong.. |
