Damn, nothing works. I wonder if there's anything to do with the interface. I use the NHL.com interface didn't update it yet. Did we have to change something in any code in order to have it working?

It just needs to be the same nhl2004.exe as the rebuilt mod.

@Sence: Yeah, the game runs normally, interface fine, gameplay, everything. But I can't activate all of the Launcher's features.

@Vod: Hmmm...so if nhl2004.exe was changed in the ESPN Interface I don't have it updated. I'll copy it from the latest ESPN Interface. Let me try again.

Hmm...it didn't change a single thing. Let me review the installation procedures.

Vod, I had the previous Launcher on my NHL 2004 folder. It had 3 files, the Launcher.dll, Launcher.exe and Launcher.ini.

I DELETED these files and placed the two new folders on the NHL 2004 folder (Example Scripts and Launcher). I launch it from the Launcher folder, Launcher.exe.

Is that correct?

Vod, I had the previous Launcher on my NHL 2004 folder. It had 3 files, the Launcher.dll, Launcher.exe and Launcher.ini.

No. Ignore the example scripts folder and extract the contents of the launcher folder into your game folder. Launcher.exe should be in the same folder as nhl2004.exe

It should look like this

NHL 2004\launcher.exe
NHL 2004\launcher.dll
NHL 2004\launcher\
NHL 2004\launcher\dump\
NHL 2004\launcher\media\...
NHL 2004\launcher\options\...
NHL 2004\launcher\scripts\...

Another question: Is the Launcher NHL specific? I tried with the AHL mod and it didn't work.

You mean for the upper ads? All that's required at the moment is two logo textures and a definition flie. The effects are done programmatically. Look at:

NHL 2004\launcher\media\textures\shared\logos
NHL 2004\launcher\scripts\modules\upper ads

What do you mean by "didn't work? None of the features worked, including FPS display? As long as the nhl2004.exe is the same as the rebuilt mod, then it should work. The launcher makes no assumptions about leagues or teams.

That would be a big help. There's a few things to configure in the definition file. Team color, short name and possibly .fsh IDs if there's something wonky about the specific arena. You should be able to add the logos and definition files while in the main menu. So you can do it there, start a game to test it in replay mode, exit to the main menu and continue on to the next team.

I was able to open the LUA file for the led ring with a simple Notepad (!). There I saw all the things you said, team colours, short name etc. Is there any simpler way to do this?

I personally use notepad++ for editing lua files.

Ok tried on another computer
I made a fresh install
Tried with launcher 1.5 and i have an app crash just before the start of the match (after arena
loading screen)
it seems related to Launcher.dll_unloaded

With Nhl2004.exe NO crash
With launcher 1.4 NO crash (but i suspect instant fight not to work even with instantfight = 1)

Launcher 1.5.0 RC2 is an old closed alpha version from May. Please delete the launcher folder and files and try with the latest version (Beta 4). A lot has changed since then.
