Freezing after finishing/quitting games; SOLVED

I have removed my firewall and have redownloaded/reinstalled the Project1.exe, Project2.exe, and RusPatch.exe and I still am having issues with the game freezing after each game. When I press quit on the post game menu, the menu closes and the game freezes. The only way to close the game is to kill the task on task manager. If I press alt+Tab to return to the desktop, then back to the game, the game goes to a black screen. Any thoughts?[/I]

So after doing a complete reinstall, I now can't even get into a game. I'm stuck on the loading screen. I have reinstalled rosters 10 times to their proper folders, reinstalled arenas and jerseys. I've ran it in compatibility mode and everything. Scratching my head here...

Did you try the launcher 1.5?
Are you 100% sure that you installed rosters correctly? To 2 different locations, 3 and 2 different files?

When you reinstalled the everything, did you reinstall the base game or just those mod files?
Also, you're base game is installed to path "C:/NHL 2004"?

I did a complete game reinstall and mod reinstall. What's strange is that the game worked well the first time I ever tried to play, but it would freeze after each game. After I did a complete reinstall, I seemed to have stumbled upon this new problem of the game getting stuck on the arena loading screen. I will uninstall the game and mod, redownload, etc. and will try again from square one to see what happens. What is launcher 1.5? Is that the latest version of the launcher.exe file available on the main downloads page? If so, I should have that as I only downloaded the game for the first time 2 days ago.

No, the launcher 1.5 is the new launcher version which is in the beta testing mode at the moment.
You can find it from here:

Did you reinstall the arena and arena-lite files?
What is your OS? Windows 10 had some problems when anti-aliasing and vsync were on, so you should turn them off.

With launcher 1.5 installed, I still am stuck on the arena screen. I am 100% sure my rosters are installed in the correct folders. The install path is C:\NHL 2004. I reinstalled everything possible: the game itself and all the mod files (including arena and arena-lite files). I am running windows 7 with the game in XP compatibility mode 3. i5 4460 processor, R9 380 graphics card. Vsync OFF, Anti-aliasing OFF.

I even followed this tutorial meticulously: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDMofArdPKY

Arena and arena-lite files go to C:\NHL 2004\gamedata , correct?

Yes. *.viv files are in C:\NHL 2004\db.

Remember that you have to extract those arena files to C:/NHL 2004/ folder. Not to gamedata folder. The installation package will handle those files to correct folders.

So, don't extract arena files to ..gamedata folder. Only to C:/NHL 2004/ folder

I just deleted the arena and arena-lite files, then extracted them to C:\NHL 2004 and I'm still stick on the loading screen. :(

How long should the normal wait for the arena loading screen be?

Rename arena.viv to arenaold.viv and arena-lite.viv to arena.viv and see if that works.

Post a picture of your C:\NHL 2004 and your C:\NHL 2004\gamedata folders.

That's your problem right there. You don't have arena.viv and arena-lite.viv in your \gamedata folder.

Where have you moved them? Just extract all packages to C:\NHL 2004 and overwrite everything. It's really that simple. No moving of any files is needed.

I extracted all packages to C:\NHL 2004 I promise. When I extract the arena and arenalite .rar files to C:\NHL 2004, they go to the arena and arena lite folders in the main C:\ folder. Should I move them to \gamedata?

I'm also using 7zip if that means anything. Should I use winRAR instead?
