Launcher 1.5 and Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Has anyone tried Launcher 1.5 on the Windows 10 Anniversary Update? I recently built a computer and installed the latest Windows version 1607 (OS build 14393.0). NHL 2004 launches to the main menu fine, but the launcher options do not take effect. The ditty engine does not work, the in-game resolution does not expand as requested in the launcher.ini, and lua scripts like the shot speed are not loaded. Even the logging option does not work when enabled. The laptop I was using before is on an older build of Windows 10 from before the Anniversary Update and does not have any of these problems on Launcher 1.5.

Can anyone else comment on their experiences?

It works for me on the anniversary update. Your problem sounds like security software blocking the injection of launcher.dll.

Perhaps, but I only have Windows Defender running with no other security software. I haven't touched any of the Internet Options for IE in the Control Panel, either. I unblocked the interface exe and the launcher zip just in case, but no change.

I downloaded Launcher 1.5 again just in case there was something wrong with the zip archive I had, and guess what, it works! The only thing that doesn't work is full screen exclusive mode, which I had working on my old laptop. I turned off antialiasing and anisotropic filtering, but no luck. I have two other installs on my computer for V2 1997 and 1999 mods, and those launch into full screen exclusive with no problems. It's only the original installation (with the modern V1 2016 mod) that has issues. Here's the launcher log from attempting to launch in full screen exclusive mode and getting that "3D accelerator card" error.

At least some of the players solved the "3D accelerator card" error when theystarted the launcher in xp compatibility mode.

For the 1997 and 1999 mod install directories, launching the game directly with nhl2004.exe works with full screen. If I try the nhl2004.exe in the 2016 mod directory (in the original installation directory "C:\NHL 04"), it will not work and throws the 3D accelerator card error.

Have you set the compatibility to Win XP SP3 for this .exe aswell?

It's a pretty bizarre mystery to me because there is no code in launcher.exe that should benefit from XP compatibly mode. Launcher.exe just saves the config, starts the game, injects launcher.dll and then exits. Have you tried fiddling with the compatibility mode of nhl2004.exe to see if it has the same affect?

It could be a built-in driver profile or some other program. One thing you can try is renaming the c:\NHL 04 folder and see what happens.

No need to set it for the nhl2004.exe, just the launcher.exe.

For me, the game only worked properly, when I set nhl2004.exe to compatibility mode.

After rebooting the system and updating it to anniversary ver. I've got the same issue as above, the new launcher wasn't working, while the old one seemed to work properly. I've tried almost everything and finally after reinstalling the DirectX everything works fine on the 2016 mod. Maybe someone could find this message helpful. Cheers :)
