Advanced Control Modifier = Shift Button?; Does it always have to be linked?

I apologize if this is in the wrong section. It may or may not be a technical problem.

I'm using a generic knock off Xbox 360 wired controller to play and everything is working well. My only problem is that the Modifier button for advanced controls is automatically linked to whatever your shift button is. So since I have my shift on LB, my modifier is on LB as well. If I try to change either one of them, it changes the other as well.

I haven't been playing very long, but is this intended and designed not to interfere with gameplay? I don't want to be trying to dive for a puck or do a spin move only to accidentally shift my lines.

Is this supposed to be like this? Or is there something wrong with my game?

By the way, thanks you very much for this rebuild. I've been wanting a good hockey game on PC for awhile and this whole time it was right there in front of me.

What does the shift button even do? I have it in the same button as the advanced control modifier too (LB, i play with a Logitech Dual Action pad), but i have my line change button at LT (i think it's number 7 in game settings) so it has never bothered me. I just change lines by tapping the LT.

Glad you're enjoying the game and the mod!

I assumed that it changed the defensive line, but I'm not 100% sure. That's what "Shift" means in other hockey games. When you do a line change, you're only changing the front 3, so logically, the shift button would change the back 2. However there doesn't seem to be a menu to show that like there is with the line change.

Thanks

I've never thought about that, actually, but i've been thinking why it's not possible to change defensive lines separately. I'm pretty sure that the line change-button changes everyone, but i wonder if that's a feature that they had meant to add to the game before release, but they didn't and kind of "forgot" the button for it in game. The game itself is very good, but it's a little bit "rushed", so that wouldn't be anything new.
